RPGCandybox is one of the earliest examples of incremental games, and is arguably one of the most popular. It starts out with a simple interface, counting up candies and allowing the player to eat them, and quickly expands into a well designed and complex game with a wide range of elements.CandyCandy is the main resource of the game and starts out by gathering automatically at a rate of 1 per second. The player initially has the option of eating the candy, but is soon offered to throw the candy on the ground. Eventually, the player is required to use the candy in a wide range of situations, and it is generally considered the currency of the game. Once enough candy has been collected, more gameplay options are made available.QuestingOnce the sword has been purchased, the player can choose to go on "an epic quest" to collect resources. The quest screen consists of a drop down box that allows the player to select the location in which they would like to quest. Once a location has been selected, the player and location appear on screen in ASCII format and the player's symbol moves to the right, fighting any enemies that are in the way. Starting from the stone age and men with clubs doing very little damage and up to modern age fighting the egg with tanks, aircrafts etc.The gameplay is fun, but the game doesn't progress when you're away, so it consumes a lot of your time. It doesn't seem to be finished as the reset basically doesn't give you anything useful, so once you reach modern age, that's basically it. Although technically the game is not over, there is nothing else left to upgrade or discover in the game.

The hexagons can be upgraded to produce faster, and can be sold and replaced with higher tier hexagons. Upgrade hexagons can also be placed that will double the output of adjacent matching automatic hexagons for a limited time.LevellingVersion 0.2 introduced a levelling system whereby the player can choose to either farm points or use them to kill the next level monsters. With each kill, points are awarded to the player that can be spent normally on upgrades or buying new hexas. The update also included bosses that must be defeated every 5 levels.
