The worker will slowly gather wood, increasing your supply.Now get a few more workers and allocate them to Wood and Forest.You'll notice that Wood will get a 2x synergy bonus. This happens when you have some supply of Forest when your workers gather Wood.After a little while, you'll unlock Commodity Sales. These can be spent on upgrades to improve the resources per second that military units provide amongst other things.

This balance is controlled by a slider, whereby you can balance the generation of creatures vs gold. DNA is produced whenever a creature mutates, and is handled randomly. It can be spent on upgrades that can change the course of the game in several ways.
